      The School of Science has three majors of undergraduate level, namely Information and Computer Science (computer application-oriented as well as economics and finance-oriented), Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Applied Physics (optical communication science and technology-oriented). In addition, it also offers postgraduate courses of condensed matter physics. At present, there are over 600 full-time students and a teaching faculty of 76 members, consisting of 10 professors, 17 associate professors, 19 with doctor’s degree and 39 with master’s degree. Among them, one is provincial teaching master and two enjoy the special allowances of the State Council. 
     In recent years, teachers in our school has authored or co-authored over twenty monographs or textbooks, taken charge of eleven projects from Natural Science Foundation of China and twenty projects from Science and Technology Tackling Fund, among which 10 are provincial key science and technology tackling projects. 295 academic papers have been published in journals at the provincial level or above, 85 of which have been collected by SCI, EI and ISTP. Students participating in China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling have won 6 national second prizes, 31 provincial first prizes, 33 provincial second prizes and 33 provincial third prizes in recent years.
