                                                                   School of Computer Science
     The School of Computer Science (SCS) presently boasts a faculty of 80, among whom eight are professors, 22 are associate professors, 15 with doctoral degree. SCS consists of Department of Computer Science and Technology, Department of Network Engineering, Department of Software Engineering, Department of Basic Computer Science and an experiment center. SCS is authorized to grant master’s degrees of the first-level discipline    Computer Science and Technology. Additionally, SCS has set up several scientific research institutions, such as the Key Lab of Network Security Assessment of Zhengzhou, Research Institute of Trunk and Parallel Processing and the Research Institute of Electronic Archive Technology. Thus four stable research directions have formed such as Information Security, Parallel Processing and High-Performance Computing, Digital Resource Management and Graphics Images Processing.
    Apart from the graduate programs of Computer Application Technology, Computer Software and Theory, SCS offers three undergraduate programs including Computer Science and Technology, Network Engineering, and Software Engineering, among which the first two are specialties with distinct features at the university or provincial level, and the talent development pattern of Software Engineering has been rated as the Model Pattern at the university level.
 Computer Science and Technology
    This program aims to cultivate high-rank application-oriented talents, so two major orientations in the education plan are provided: Computer Network and Embedded Software for free selection so as to cater to students’ interests and characteristics, and meet the needs of their future employment.
    Employment status of the graduates: Students of this program are engaged in the scientific research, education, development and application of computer science and technology in such organizations as scientific research, education, enterprises and public institutions, and administrative units.
   Network Engineering
    This program aims to cultivate high-rank technological talents who will devote themselves to network planning and designing, management, maintenance, development and get involved in the work of network designing. Two specialty orientations in the education plan are provided: Network-Based Software Development and Information Security. Besides, a Cisco school of network technology and a CIW training base of network security which is the only one of its type in Henan Province have been set up.
     Employment status of the graduates: Students of this program are engaged in the planning, designing, construction, development, management and maintenance of network system in such organizations as state organs, research institutions, enterprises and public institutions, junior colleges, and the information industry.
   Software Engineering
    This program aims to cultivate comprehensive talents of software engineering who are capable of undertaking the jobs of engineering system analysis and designing, project management, software encoding, software testing and quality monitoring through practicing overall rudimentary education of the discipline of computer science, with an emphasis on cultivating students’ engineering competence, cooperative and communicative competence and English speaking ability. Its core is laid in the command of the NET and J2EE technology, and the IBM Rational-related software development.
     Employment status of the graduates: Students of this program are to undertake the research, analysis, designing, development, testing of software engineering, the operation and management of IT businesses, software service outsourcing, and the research and application of computer science and technology.
  Key Lab of Network Security Assessment in Zhengzhou
    The Key Lab of Network Security Assessment in Zhengzhou (KLNSA) was established in 2009 and approved by the Bureau of Science and Technology of the municipal government. Currently an outstanding scientific research team of computer network and information security has formed, with Prof. Zheng Qiusheng and the university-level distinguished visiting professor Pan Zhengyun at the core. Five professors, and seven members with doctoral degrees, and over 20 graduate students are the backbones of it. This team has been preoccupied with the research and development of the network security assessment, risk assessment, information security testing, vulnerability data, malicious doe, computer forensics, wireless network, and Internet of things, with part of the key technologies in leading position in China. Aside from the finished dozen projects at the provincial level, and the other six under research, members of this team have got more than 80 academic papers published. In addition, substantial achievements have been accomplished by this team in the spheres of basic research, technical breakthrough, technology transformation, talent production, academic exchange, social model and so forth.
   Research and Application Center of Parallel Processing Technology
    The Research and Application Center of Parallel Processing Technology (RACPPT) mainly concentrates on the leading-edge project research of high-performance computer. It boasts the only domain (Parallel Processing) of this discipline in Henan Province, which is authorized to award master’s degree. Some GPU computing facilities have been established such as the Infini Band III Shuguang High-Performance Colony System, with the peak value of 300G flops, the internal memory of 132GB, as well as the High-Performance Graphic Station. At present, this center undertakes two provincial projects, and one project at the department level. And 40 journals have been published at the core journals home and abroad. Major research orientation of RACPPT covers the parallel computing efficiency and programming technology, parallel system valid detecting technology, CPU+GPU high-performance computing, and graphics and images processing technology.
   Institute of Electronic Archiving Technology  
    The Institute of Electronic Archiving Technology (IEAT) is a research institution established under the joint efforts of Zhongyuan University of Technology and China Textile and Apparel Education Society. The primary mission of IEAT is to commit to the basic research of electronic archiving, research and development of key technologies, especially the research and software development of the TRIP database featuring the processing of unconventional data. Since it boasts a team made up of 19 teaching staff, with researcher Lian Yachun specially employed as the director, who is from China Technology and Information Institute, IEAT has developed an excellent platform for scientific research, and several soft wares involving Oil Field Archive Management System, College Teachers Achievement Management System and Project Blueprint Management System.
