School of Textile

     School of Textile is one of the main and characteristic institutes in Zhongyuan University of Technology with two undergraduate majors of textile engineering and light chemical engineering, three master degree programs of textile materials and design, textile engineering, textile chemistry and dyeing and finishing. What’s more, it provides a professional master degree in engineering and another professional degree of textile materials and design for College Teachers. Among all the majors, textile engineering is national characteristic specialty, light chemical engineering is provincial characteristic specialty in Henan, and textile science and engineering is a key discipline with supporting priority in the province which is a first-level discipline authorized to grant master’s degree.

    The school boasts a sound faculty of 13 professors, 13 associate professors, 14 lecturers, two Ph.D. supervisors, 18 master instructors, among which there are 22 teachers with Ph.D. degree, one national excellent teacher, one specialist who enjoys special allowance of the State Council, one teacher listed in the new century talent plan, two excellent specialists in Henan Province, one teacher listed in the cultivation of innovative talents in universities, four winners with Textile Vision Science & Education Fund, five provincial backbone teachers or academic leaders in the 555 projects granted by the provincial education department, five young backbone teachers in the Province. Besides the provincial teaching group of textile materials and design, the faculty has shaped into the technology innovation team of industrial textile materials at university level in the province as well as the technology innovation team of industrial textile materials in Zhengzhou. Moreover, the school is one of the institutions with distinguished visiting professors.

   Equipped with such labs as textile material labs, modern textile engineering labs, textile design labs, dyeing and finishing and textile ecology tests labs, the experiment center of the textile school is the key provincial lab in functional textile materials, the open lab in key disciplines of provincial universities and the key lab of the school in textile engineering and dyeing and finishing. The center is equipped with international advanced apparatus, and has undertaken 93 projects at the provincial level or above, among which there are two national natural science fund projects, one major scientific and technological project of the Ministry of Education, four national scholarship programs, two major scientific research projects for non-profit public service in the province, one project of cooperation between the province and academicians. So far, the school has achieved six science and technology progress awards, two provincial teaching achievement prizes, and managed to apply for six patents of invention and 18 utility model patents.
