     Established in 1999, the Department of Physical Education is equipped with two teaching and research sections, one physical examination center and one reference room. The teaching faculty is 35 in total, among which there is one professor and ten associate professors, national judges of the basketball, national aerobics social instructors and special commission superintendents of basketball and football association of Henan Province.
      Through qualified physical education, sports training and group activities, the Department of Physical Education actively promotes the development of the campus sports culture. These years, some physical education teachers have won such awards as “Provincial Excellent Teacher”, “Provincial Civilized Teacher” and "Advanced Individual in Three Aspects of Education”. In the national, provincial sports meetings and other competitions held by social organizations, many awards have been won by the university basketball, football, tennis, track and field, aerobics, martial arts, table tennis, volleyball, fitness and wellness groups, which has won good reputation for the university. In addition, the Department of Physical Education has been conferred with “The National Aerobics Mass Exercise Standard Promotion Award”, Award of Qualified Organization in the Implementation of National Student Physical Health Standard and the title of Advanced Unit in Amateur Sports of Zhengzhou. Many news media including China Sports Daily have reported the physical education achievements of our university.
