     The School of Civil Engineering and Architecture （SCEA） currently has secured a faculty of 37, among whom four are professors, 10 are associate professors, and over 90% of the full-time teachers have obtained master’s degrees or doctoral degrees. In addition, two are entitled provincial Backbone Teachers of Henan universities, three are granted Academic and Technological Pacesetter by Henan Education Department, and one is awarded Outstanding Teacher at the university level.
    SCEA offers undergraduate programs for civil engineering and architecture majors respectively, a first-level discipline graduate program of civil engineering and professional master degrees of architecture and civil engineering as well, among which civil engineering is the characteristic specialty at the university level. At present, the enrollment of students in SCEA has reached nearly 600.
    SCEA consists of such teaching and research sections as the Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Architecture, Department of Constructional Engineering and Management, Department of Basic Mechanics Education, Rock-Soil and Underground Engineering Institute, and Engineering Mechanics Institute. Besides, it boasts several laboratories of Basic Mechanics, Rock-Soil and Building Materials, Engineering Structure, Architecture Physics and Architectural Structure CAD.
     In the past few years, the teaching staff of SCEA has taken charge of two projects of NNSF (National Natural Science Foundation), over 20 provincial and departmental projects. Moreover, they assume 10 projects at the provincial or above level. Last but not least, those excellent teachers have been granted five Scientific Awards, over 20 Excellent Paper Awards at the provincial level and so far more than 200 of their academic papers have been published domestically and internationally.
