ZUT Co-Organized a Technology Seminar Sponsored by National Information Center

On 27th October, "Seminar on Large Capacity Optical Storage Technology and Unstructured Database Technology" was held in National Information Center (Beijing). This seminar was sponsored by National Information Center, organized by ZUT and “China Information Times” magazine publisher. It was presided by Fenghai Shi, the previous vice-director of Department of Informatization Promotion of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The leaders who joined the seminar and delivered speeches included Kai Li, vice-director of National Information Center; Shilong Zhong, vice-director of Department of Informatization Promotion of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Hongsui Cao, vice-director of Printing and Distribution Administration Department of General Administration of Press and Publication; Xiaofan Zhao, board chairman of China Software Industry Association; and Jianchao Zhou, board chairman of Optical Disk Working Committee in China Audio-Visual Association. Other participants who were invited to attend the seminar included Professor Jianhui Du, vice-president of ZUT; Wei Sun, director of Department of Foreign Affairs; deans of Department of Computer Science and Department of Software; Mr. Jan Sunnebäck, director of Department of Research and Development of Tieto Sweden AB, which had cooperative relation in studying and research with ZUT, Mr. Tomas Fors, senior technical consultant of TRIP Non-relational Database System, and Mr. Jan Alriksson, deputy general manager who was in charge of TRIP marketing.

On the seminar, several institutes took parts in the discussion, including China Hualu Group. CO. LTD; Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC); Data Center of China; The Economic Daily; Technique and consultant department of Tieto (Sweden); Huabei Oilfield; Light Pat Engineering Technique Center (Tsinghua University); Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (Huazhong University of Science and Technology); Resource Department of China Aerospace Information Center; Information Center of Shandong Province; Jiana Textile Science and Technology. CO.LTD, Shanghai. Several topics had been discussed on the seminar, such as "How to solve problems in mass data storing and searching?" and "How to construct a safe, green, sustainable modern data center?" Applications and research methods about mass optical storage technique and unstructured data technique were thus presented on the seminar. Professor Qiusheng Zheng, dean of Computer Science Department, director of Electrical Data Research Institute, Zhongyuan Univeristy of Technology, made a presentation on the topic "Contents Based Unstructured Database Technique" on the seminar. This presentation showed the development of this cutting-edge research in our university. It also attracted concerns from many institutes and experts.

This seminar is a significant move done by National Information Center to implement the plan of government affairs informatization construction in "Twelfth Five-year Plan". China Information Times published “Informatization Reference: collected essays on large capacity optical storage technology and the unstructured database technology seminar” for this conference.
