Outstanding staff and groups commendation ceremony of 2010-2012

On the afternoon of July the fourth, Outstanding Staff and Groups Commendation Ceremony of 2010-2012 was held in Academic Hall on the eighth floor of South Campus library, which was chaired by President Cui Shizhong, and attended by all the leaders of our university, Party branch secretaries of retired staff and in-service staff and the representatives of commended staff and departments.

   At 9am, the ceremony started with the majestic National Anthem. Guo Zhengrang, deputy Party secretary, read Decisions made by CPC Henan Provincial Committee on commendations of outstanding basic-level Party organizations, Party members and county(city/district)-level Party committees in 2010-2012, Decisions made by CPC Zhongyuan University of Technology on commendations of outstanding groups and staff in 2010-2012. 10 outstanding basic-level Party organizations, 10 outstanding Party branches of staff, 10 outstanding Party branches of students, 68 outstanding Party members (staff), 13 outstanding Party affair workers were commended at the ceremony, leaders present awarded medals and certificates of honors to the representatives of outstanding groups and staff, and posed for pictures.

Representatives from commended groups made speeches respectively, telling their stories in teaching, researching, managing, serving, and studying, the ways they become outstanding and their achievements, and promised that they will be self-disciplined, co-operative, responsible and practical to show Party members’ positive spirit and the work style of leading and sacrificing.

Xie Zhenshan, Party secretary of our university, summarized the activity of being outstanding groups and staff starting from April 2010, remarking that the activity in our university possesses four characteristics. Firstly, it is based on our university, focusing on three combinations. During the activity, we very practically combine it with the regular Party development, Labor Unions construction, Communist Youth League growth as well as the sustained, balanced, and rapid development of our university, so as to have a coordinated arrangement and joint improvement. Secondly, focusing on the theme of this activity, which aims at strengthening internal construction, improving education quality, striving for first-class performance, and promoting scientific development, basic-level Party organizations and Party members tried their best to be responsible and outstanding in their own positions. Thirdly, it is pragmatic and innovative. During the process of promoting this activity, we consistently innovate our working mechanism, on the 19th College Conference of Party development, our report “Uphold and Improve the System of Party and Government Co-Presence to Provide a Strong Political Guarantee for Colleges’ Scientific Development” was read and discussed; on the 20th Party Development of Henan Province, our university made an example speech titled “Combining the Activity of Outstanding Groups and Staff and Three-level Quantitative Assessment to Comprehensively Strengthen Basic-level Party Development”. Fourthly, we have summed up the experience obtained from the activity, established a long-term mechanism, solidified achievements, integrated this activity into the regular work of Party members and basic-level Party organizations, and made it their pursuit of value.

   Owing to our solid work, distinctive characteristics and outstanding achievements, our university was awarded the Outstanding Basic-level Party Organization of 2010-2012 by Henan Provincial Party Committee. This honor belongs to all the Party members, every basic-level Party organization as well as every teacher and student of our university.

Xie also made arrangements for the work of next period, advanced five requests, firstly, continue to strengthen learning-type Party development, and study theoretical and business knowledge and documents; secondly, continue to improve middle-level leaders’ ability of university management, strengthen “three spirits”, confirm “three awarenesses”, improve “five capacities”, practice “one concept”, integrate individual value realization into the development of Zhongyuan University of Technology,  and highlight the individual talent in the process of realizing the goals of our university; thirdly, continue to play the leading and exemplary role of Party members and leaders and the functions of the basic-level Party organizations; fourthly, strengthen discipline awareness, get familiar with rules of colleges and our university, perfect rules and put them into effective implementations; fifthly, continue to establish a positive atmosphere of hard working. In future work, all the middle-level leaders will continue to integrate the work of reform, development and stability, guide our staff to promote the development of Zhongyuan University of Technology, and meet the Eighteenth Session of the People's Congress with remarkable achievements.

President Cui hopes that comrades present will study Party secretary Xie’s speech, continue to work and study with pragmatic style, inspiring spirit, strong senses of purpose and responsibility, and make new and greater contribution to the sustained, coordinated and rapid development of our university.
