2012 Conference on Forensic Linguistics & the Biennial Conference of the China Association of Forensic Linguistics was Held in ZUT

On October 20th and 21st, 2012 Conference on Forensic Linguistics & the Biennial Conference of the China Association of Forensic Linguistics was hold in the north campus of our school. The president of the China Association of Forensic Linguistics, Du Jinbang, professor in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, together with more than 70 other forensic linguistics experts and scholars attended the meeting. The vice president of ZUT, Dr. Du Jianhui, attended the meeting and offered a welcoming speech.
During the two-day meeting, Prof. Wang Jie in China University of Political Science and Law, Prof. Pan Qingyun in East China University of Politics and Law, Prof. Du Jinbang in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Prof. Liu Suzhen in Northwest China University of Politics and Law made keynote speeches relating to common words in legal language, the application of legal discourse information, and legal culture in semantic changes. According to research orientation and the abstracts of research papers presented, hot issues in the fields of forensic linguistics had been discussed in eight groups. A new council has been selected. Mr. Du Jinbang, the distinguished professor in our school, had been reelected as the president. The dean of the school of foreign languages, Prof. Guo Wanqun had been elected as the vice president of the association.
It was the first time for our school to hold such a national linguistic meeting in China, which will promote the exchange and development of forensic linguistics, as well as the fame and popularity of our school. (Text /School of Foreign Languages)
