     Originally the school factory and teaching practice department, the industrial training centre was founded in 1999, which is now a province-level experimental teaching demonstration centre. The present practice factory covers over 6500 square meters with various equipments over 600 sets, and totally value 11 billion Yuan. It mainly undertakes metalworking theory teaching, trainings such as fundamental engineering, comprehensive engineering, electrical engineering and electron, and special subjects, and teachings like advanced manufacturing technology and cultivation of innovative capacity.
     The industrial training centre consists of center office, metalworking teaching and research section, innovative design research section, training department of fundamental engineering, pipeline and sheet metal training department, as well as an digital control technology development department, with 28 full-time staff, 5 of which own senior technical titles and 6 have engineer qualification titles or technician qualification titles.
     In the long-term practice, the industrial training center has developed a teaching belief featured by “large-scale engineering setting, integrated teaching and comprehensive training”. According to distinct characteristics of different majors, a practical teaching curriculum system divided into three levels and ten modules has been set up together with a complete quality assurance system. By introducing competition mechanism into the regular education, the “Metalworking Cup” competition for innovative design and manufacture was created, which serves as an important platform for both quality education and innovative training, exerting considerable influence in Henan Province and south-central China. Through the training by the innovative platform, the students have achieved brilliant results in recent competitions and won numerous awards including the first prize of the first national college students’ competition about the comprehensive ability of engineering training.
