       Founded in April, 2003, the College of Information and Business is one of the first group of independent colleges authorized by the Ministry of Education in 2001 to offer full-time undergraduates education. Jointly established by Zhongyuan University of Technology and China’s Jiahong Holding Group, the college runs under the leadership of the board of directors as an independent legal entity. After a short period of seven years’ development, the college has stood out remarkably among the independent colleges in Henan Province with impressive teaching achievements and favorable social efficiency. In 2010, it was awarded as “National Advanced Independent College”
      At present, the college has seven departments and one division, namely Department of Economic Management, Department of Political Science, Law and Mass Media, Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Computer Science, Department of Art and Design, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, and Division of Basic Disciplines. In addition, the college has 23 specialties of undergraduate level and 5 specialties of junior college level. The college enjoys a nationwide enrollment with 32 specialties and directions and more than 12000 full-time students. The teaching faculty is 555 in total, and 392 among them are full-time teachers. Full-time teachers with master's degree or above account for 82.3% of the total, and some of them are national prominent teachers, graduate supervisors, provincial backbone teachers, experts granted with Special Allowance from the State Council, and others are newly graduated doctors and masters.
     There are two campuses, covering an area of more than 181 acres. The main campus, located in Double Lake Avenue 2 in Zhengzhou Xinzheng Longhu Science and Technology Education Industrial Park, covers an area of 144 acres. Besides modernized teaching buildings, the college is equipped with numerous modern experimental facilities, such as the physics lab, the electrical and electronic lab, the computing center, the accounting manual account lab, the accounting information lab, the securities simulated trading hall, the logistical lab, the ERP sand table lab, the simultaneous interpretation lab, the multifunctional performance hall, the photography and art foundation lab, the clothing lab, the modern art design lab, etc. In addition, the college also provides with advanced teaching infrastructures for physical education, including standard athletics stadium, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, aerobics room, etc. The teaching equipments are worth 34.52 million RMB totally and the library holds 986 thousand paper books and 861 thousand electronic books as well.
