      Presently the School of Journalism & Communication has 35 teachers, among which there are 10 professors and associate professors, two with doctor’s degree and 20 with master’s degree．Adhering to the philosophy of schooling of ‘Taking Discipline as the Lead, Taking Specialties as Weight, Taking Students as the Main Body, Taking Teaching as Focus, Taking Scientific Research as Support and Taking Teachers as Directors’, the school has been approved to complete 20 projects on education and teaching at and above university level since 2003. Besides, it is in charge of over 20 projects on scientific research at national-level, provincial-level and departmental-level, and has published 10 works and more than 300 academic papers.
      The School has Department of Journalism, Department of Broadcasting and Department of Writing & Directing and such teaching-study institutions as studios of film and television, media works and film & television network. It also offers 3 specialties for undergraduates: Broadcasting & Hosting Arts, Journalism of Broadcasting and TV and Radio and Television Scenarist, equipped with many training facilities, for example, broadcasting training rooms, TV studios, AV editing workstations and multi-media halls for observing and emulating.

Broadcasting & Hosting Arts ( bachelor degree)
      Educational Objectives: to train compound talents who work in mandarin news broadcast in radio, host in television radio and news reporters, special subject announcers, various types of program host, sports commentators as well as film dubbing and studio actor.
      Employment: graduates are suitable to the work of radio, television and other news media, cultural industries and the relevant units which can offer the jobs of radio host, interview editors, programming, film dubbing or image of the video packaging and propaganda.

Journalism of Broadcasting and TV (bachelor degree)
      Educational Objectives: to train the compound senior talents who master the basic theory, the broad cultural and the scientific knowledge in radio and television, being able to do the work of interviewing, editing and management program host and related works in journalism and communication and other public information departments.
      Employment: units of publishing management, radio station, television station, companies of making television and radio programs, newspapers, magazines, websites and other government departments and social organizations.

Radio and Television Scenarist (bachelor degree)
     Educational Objectives: to cultivate high-level practical specialized talents with the quality of higher political level, theoretical preparation, news capability and aesthetic appreciation; to work as a scenarist, mastermind, photographer, editor, maker or presenter of broadcasting, film television programs in the areas such as broadcasting and media networks, film and television enterprises and institutions, departments of cultural propaganda.
      Employment: working in such areas as editor, maker in the programmers of broadcast, film, television, or artistic photographer, sound designer and audio director, or script-writer, scenarist, movie-maker, presenter of social education and arts in the departments of broadcast, film and television, or network communication system and government cultural management.

Broadcast and TV Art (Master degree)
      In 2010, the school was authorized to grant second grade Broadcast and TV Art master’s degree, which provided it with a platform to combine the disciplines between the Journalism and Aesthetic. With the research of media language art, medium programs planning, artistic forms of journalism and communication, the master station mainly aimed at making students become versatile professionals of high level who both can work on researching and teaching of television art theory and practice art creation, program planning. It aims to make students proficiently acquire the interactive relationship between new media art and technique who take broadcast, television, internet and moving technique, so as to develop their capability of new thoughts and concepts of radio and TV creation under the background of New Media, research of radio and TV aesthetics, composition theory and practice research as well as the making of digital TV programs.
