      The School of Continuing Education is geared to the needs of society to provide adult and non-academic credential education. It originated from the Department of Adult Education founded in December, 1992.
      Under the guiding principle of “Orient towards Society, Profession and Foundation”, the school integrates the advanced and featured specialties of the university with strong enterprises, striving to bring up practical talents with great cultivation, strong operating ability, and flexible adaptability.
      Since 2000, besides enrolling more adults to receive education, the faculty has devoted unceasing efforts to improving its teaching quality. It constantly examines and refines the provided courses to get best effect. Currently the non-academic credential education available includes various vocational trainings, tutorial classes, oral English courses and practical talents cultivation, etc. The academic credential education consists of 2.5-year junior college education, 5-year undergraduate education, and 2.5-year higher education of self-taught students, with disciplines of engineering, management, liberal arts, science, economics and law for the students’ option. The presently hottest specialties are building environment and equipment engineering, textile engineering, fashion design and engineering, computer art and design.
       To ensure a larger scale of adult education, the faculty is now offering correspondence courses in a lot of locations nationwide, such as in Hunan Province, Gansu Province, Shandong Province, Fujian Province, the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region as well as many cities inside Henan Province.
